Ein öffentliches 24-stündiges Nichtstun. Ein Nichtstun gegenübergestellt der Einflüsse von außen. Eine Umkehrung von Aktion und Nicht-Aktion im Kontext der gelernten Strukturen im Umgang mit Kunst und Kunstbetrachtung.

Die Performance „Illuminated Nothing“ konzentriert sich auf das Nichtstun, indem die Performerin Emilia Vogt sich 24 Stunden in einem Raum befindet, der öffentlich einsehbar ist. Das Nichtstun definiert sich auf lebenserhaltende Grundbedürfnisse wie Atmen, Sitzen, Liegen, Stehen, Essen, Trinken und die Toilette benutzen, alle aktiven Tätigkeiten werden bewusst vermieden.
Dem Nichtstun der Performerin wird der Einfluss von außen gegenübergestellt, der durch die Fremdbestimmung von Lichtern im Raum verdeutlicht wird. Über eine interaktive Webseite lassen sich sieben Lichter im Raum beliebig an und aus schalten.
Die Performance kann vor Ort angeschaut werden und über einen Livestream. Menschen weltweit sind aufgefordert, auf die Performance Einfluss zunehmen und dabei zu zuschauen.

Light installation influenceable via interactive website illuminatednothing.de

The performance „Illuminated Nothing“ focuses on doing nothing by having the performer Emilia Vogt spend 24 hours in a room that is publicly visible. Doing nothing is defined by basic life-sustaining needs such as breathing, sitting, lying down, standing, eating, drinking and using the toilet; all active activities are consciously avoided.
The performer’s inaction is contrasted with the influence from outside, which is made clear by the heteronomy of lights in the room. Seven lights in the room can be switched on and off as desired via an interactive website.
The performance can be viewed on site and via a live stream. People around the world are invited to influence and watch the performance.
